Follow-Up

A lot has happened since my last post, which has attributed to the fact that I stopped writing.

I moved out of my house not long after my first post, and in with my best friend. My best friend and her boyfriend had bought a house together, and they had been working on it for a long time. The weekend they were supposed to move in together, they broke up. She ended up, after a whole bunch of craziness, buying him out of his half of the house. I moved in with her after a lot of drama happened at home. Despite the drama, I knew it was time for me to take the next big step in my life and move out. It has gone relatively well, and she has 3 turtles and recently acquired a dog, which has been a whole new adventure for me.

The job I was temporarily employed in became permanent! I have a salary and benefits, which will include getting a graduate degree for free. I'm going to be traveling all around CT, and and western and central MA for about 2 months starting very soon. I will be doing high school visits and college fairs along the way, and am both excited and nervous for my first travel season to begin. I love my job, and am learning a whole bunch.

Rachel left for London on the 2nd, and arrived safely there for her semester abroad with Alycia and Jess. Despite the fact that their internet was down for a bit, some luggage was lost, they had cold showers, and it sounds like the food is terrible, they are having what seems to be a good time. I Skyped with them today for about 2 hours for the first time, and it was so nice to see her pretty face and hear her voice. I know this is going to be hard for us, but I am so glad she is taking advantage of this amazing opportunity and having the experience of a lifetime.

While Rachel is gone, I'm going to be hunting for an apartment for both of us to move into come January 1st. This is both exciting and scary for me, as I've never done that before, but I know it will be a great learning experience. I also need to find a cat-friendly apartment for Julie, the cat we acquired towards the end of July. She is super duper cute and amazing, and I'm so excited to have her as our own. I just bought a super nice queen mattress and box spring for the apartment, along with eco-friendly and concentrated Shaklee cleaning supplies. I'm really excited for this next step in our relationship, and to really be in a place that is our own!

I'm going to attempt to write from the road as much as possible, to keep everyone updated on what's going on in my life. The next couple of months living out of a rental car, suitcases, and hotel rooms will surely be crazy. :)

My life in a nutshell...

I have decided to start blogging on here, as I have not touched my MySpace blog in months and months. I also thought it might be a good time for something new for me, and so I will actually keep my mind doing something interesting.

So a little about me... I'm from a small town in north central Massachusetts. I lived there my whole life in the same house until I went to college right outside of Boston. I just graduated in May, and am working as a temporary admission counselor at my alma mater until the end of August. I have plans to work in higher education for good, and to get a free graduate degree wherever I get a permanent position.

I am currently living at home and commuting, which kind of sucks, but I love my job. Plus, the home cooked meals are awesome, and so is not paying rent. I have some awesome friends who live closer to work, and I sometimes hang out and crash with them. It's a great way to have some fun and break up the monotony of my commute. My parents are oh so gracious for letting me stay home as long as I need to, which is awesome.

My best friend is amazing, and she and I have a relationship that no one understands. We are total opposites, but I would hate to live a life without her in it. I have few friends from high school who I still keep in touch with, and we are clearly all going in different directions as a result of this growing up thing. I hope that we keep in touch for life though, as they are pretty fabulous. I also made amazing friends at college, namely Kassy, Katherine, and Alycia. Kassy and I have the most hilarious adventures and road trips, Katherine made my college experience all it could ever be and so much more, and Alycia always keeps me laughing until I cry. Then there's Katie... we met about half way through high school, and I tell everyone we share a brain. She's amazing, and is going to do great things in her lifetime.

As for my love life... I currently have a girlfriend, and we have been together for over 6 months now. We met at college, and she is going to be a junior in the fall. This is interesting for me to write, because if I look back on my old blogs, they're all about guys. Yes, Rachel is my very first girlfriend. I wouldn't say I was in the closet before, I just was going with the flow and being with boys like most of the rest of my friends. Come to find out, my best friend had thought I was a lesbian since towards the end of junior year of high school. So glad she gave me the heads up...

So yes, I am in love with a beautiful, smart, intelligent, amazing, sexy, funny, cute woman. We have the most fun together, and she brings happiness to my life in ways I never thought possible. I have every intention of being with her for the rest of my days, as I have been around the block enough to know what I am looking for. She has become an awesome part of my life, and my parents know that she is my girl and that I love her. They did not even care when I told them I had a girlfriend, as long as I was happy and she was going to treat me well, and she definitely does.

So that's all I can think of. I'm heading to bed soon, as I have to work my first college fair in the morning, which should be a fun time...
